Plush faux rabbit fur runner rugs feel premium because the fibers are fine, soft, and fluffy—which means cleaning must be gentle. Unlike flat rugs, you cannot scrub them harshly. The goal is to remove dust without matting the texture.
Use this routine to keep your runner rug fresh, fluffy, and comfortable for daily use.
Weekly routine (5 minutes)
- Shake it out: Take the rug outdoors and shake it to remove loose dust and debris.
- Vacuum gently: Use low suction (or upholstery mode). Do NOT use the rotating beater bar/brush, as it can pull out the fur.
- Brush lightly: Use a pet slicker brush or a wide-tooth comb. Brush in one direction to restore the fluff and volume.
Spot cleaning (small stains)
- Blot the stain immediately with a clean dry cloth (don’t rub, as this pushes the stain deeper).
- Use mild soap + water solution (test a small hidden corner first).
- Dab gently, then wipe with a damp cloth to remove soap residue.
- Air dry fully in the shade. Avoid direct sunlight or heavy heat (hairdryers) as heat can damage synthetic fur fibers.
